Service Catalog
Manage the services, categories, and prices that drive your booking page, visit charges, quotes, and reminders.
The service catalog is the list of treatments your clinic offers. Every service you add here can show up on your public booking page, gets charged on a patient visit, appears in quotes, and drives the service name in appointment reminders. Find it at Settings → Catalog & Pricing (https://dentare.io/clinic/settings/catalog).
The catalog page has four tabs: Services, Categories, Price Lists, and Bundles. Services and Categories share one page and switch with a tab click; Price Lists and Bundles are separate pages.
What the catalog controls
- Booking page: a service only appears to patients when it is active and marked visible on your bio page.
- Visit charging: the prices you set here are what staff pick from when adding items to a visit.
- Quotes: quote line items pull their name and price from the catalog.
- Reminders: appointment reminders reference the service name tied to the booked event.
Turning a service inactive removes it from all of these surfaces without deleting its history on past visits and quotes.
Services tab
The Services tab is a single grid: one row per service, with a search box, a category filter, an active/inactive/all status filter, and a sort control above it.
Each row shows:
- The service name and code, with its treatment area if one is set.
- Its category, shown as a colored dot and the category name.
- The departments the service is available in (an inline multi-select per row; leave it empty to inherit the category's departments).
- One price cell per price list. Click a cell to edit it in place; the value saves as soon as you move away from the field, no separate save button.
- An active toggle switch.
- A row menu with Edit (opens the full service details in a side drawer) and Delete.
If your clinic has four or more price lists, the grid switches to a focus mode: pick one price list to edit at a time from a row of chips above the grid, and the other lists show as read-only summary chips per row that you can click to bring into focus.
Each price list column has its own currency selector in the header. Changing a list's currency is a clinic-wide setting for that list, not a one-off edit, so confirm before switching a list that already has prices on it.
Adding a service
Open the new service drawer
Click New Service at the top of the Services tab. It opens a drawer on the right side of the screen.
Fill in the basics
Enter the service code, name (and translations if your clinic has more than one active locale), description, and category. Optionally set a treatment area.
Set departments and bio visibility
Choose which departments the service is offered in, or leave it inheriting from the category. Toggle whether the service should be visible on your public booking page.
Set a price per price list
Enter a price for each price list your clinic uses. A service can stay unpriced on a list if you are not ready to bill it there yet.
Save
Save the drawer. The new service appears in the grid immediately.
You can also open the same drawer by editing an existing row, and step through neighboring services in the current filtered list without closing the drawer.
Bulk price adjustment
Select multiple services with the row checkboxes (or select all filtered) and click Adjust prices to open the bulk price tool. It supports four modes:
- Set a fixed price on the selected services.
- Adjust by percent (increase or decrease every selected price by a percentage).
- Adjust by amount (add or subtract a fixed amount from every selected price).
- Copy from another price list (useful right after adding a new price list).
The tool always runs a preview before applying: it shows a sample of before/after prices and how many services will be skipped (unpriced services and cross-currency mismatches are excluded automatically). Nothing is written until you confirm the preview.
A bulk price change is applied to every matching service at once and cannot be undone from the UI. Review the preview counts carefully before confirming, especially when you selected "all filtered" rather than a specific set of rows.
Categories tab
The Categories tab shows your categories as cards, one per category, in a reorderable list. Drag a card by its handle to change the order categories appear in everywhere else in the app (the visit item picker, the booking page, quotes).
Each category card shows its color, code, service count, a pricing-progress bar, and, when the category has unpriced services, a shortcut to jump into the Services tab already filtered to that category's unpriced items.
Expand a category card to see the services inside it. Services within a category are also drag-reorderable, independent of the category order. From here you can add a new service directly into that category, edit or delete any service in it, or toggle its active state.
Click New Category or a category's edit action to open the category dialog. It has:
- Name (plus a translation field per active locale).
- Code (a short internal reference).
- Color (used for the category dot throughout the app).
- Departments the category applies to, used as the default for any service inside it that doesn't set its own.
- Active toggle.
A category with services in it cannot be deleted; archive its services first or move them to a different category.
Price lists and bundles
Price lists are the pricing tiers your clinic bills against (for example Private, or a specific insurer). They live on their own page: Settings → Catalog & Pricing → Price Lists. From there you create, edit, and archive price lists, set each one's currency, mark a default, and jump into the Services grid pre-filtered to copy prices from one list into another.
Bundles group several services into one item staff can add to a visit or quote in a single tap. Manage them at Settings → Catalog & Pricing → Bundles. This tab only appears for clinics with bundle management enabled.
