Regional & Currency

Set your clinic's default country, currencies, languages, time zone, and tooth numbering from Settings → Regional & Currency.

Regional & Currency controls the settings that shape how Dentare looks and calculates for your clinic: which country's rules apply, which currencies you charge in, which languages your team and patients can use, and how times and tooth charts are displayed. Open it at Settings → Regional & Currency (https://dentare.io/clinic/settings/regional).

Every control on this page saves as soon as you change it. There is no Save button. If a save fails, the page rolls back to the last saved value and shows an error.

Default Country

Your default country drives three things:

  • Tax rules - which VAT/tax logic applies to invoices and receipts.
  • Public holiday catalog - which national holidays are available when you set up Closures & Non-Working Days under Settings → Hours & Availability (https://dentare.io/clinic/settings/closures).
  • Date and address formats - how dates and addresses are displayed across the app and on documents.

Pick the country your clinic legally operates in, not the country most of your patients live in.

Currency

Default currency. Used for prices, receipts, and reports across your clinic. Changing it does not convert historical amounts, it only changes what new prices and documents use going forward.

Accepted currencies. The full set of currencies your clinic can bill in. Your default currency is always included and shown with a star badge, it can't be removed while it's the default. To stop accepting a currency, first change your default currency to a different one, then remove the old one from the list.

Add a currency from the + Add currency... dropdown. Each accepted currency appears as a pill with its code and symbol (for example EUR (€)). Click the X on a pill to remove it.

Accepting more than one currency is a Pro feature. On the Free plan, this section shows only your default currency with a locked note. Upgrade from Settings → Billing & Plan (https://dentare.io/clinic/settings/billing).

If your currency isn't in the list, contact support@dentare.io.

Secondary display currency. When set, monetary amounts on patient pages, receipts, and emails show your default currency with a small conversion line in this secondary currency (for example "10,000 MKD ≈ €163.00"). It requires an exchange rate to be available; otherwise only the default currency is shown. This is optional and only offers currencies you've already accepted. This is also a Pro feature.

Default visit currency. The currency new visits open in. Staff can still switch currency on any individual visit, and your base/fiscal currency and receipts aren't affected by that choice. This option only appears once multi-currency is unlocked, and only offers currencies from your accepted list.

Removing an accepted currency that's currently set as the secondary display or default visit currency clears those selections automatically, since they can no longer point at a currency you don't accept.

Languages

Enabled languages. Your default language plus any extra languages your clinic uses for receipts, PDFs, and patient communications. These are also the languages you can turn on for your booking page, kiosk, and QR check-in. Add a language from the + Add language... dropdown; each enabled language shows as a pill with its name and code.

Default language. The language new staff and patient pages start in when no other preference is set. The default language must be one of your enabled languages, so it can't be removed from the enabled list while it's selected as default. To switch your default, add the new language first, set it as default, then remove the old one if you no longer need it.

Formatting

Default time zone. All appointment times, reminders, and opening hours use this time zone. Set it to where your clinic physically operates, not where you or your patients happen to be when configuring settings. Getting this wrong shifts every appointment time and reminder send time by the difference between the two zones.

Tooth numbering system. The system shown on dental charts and treatment plans. Pick whichever system your team is already used to (for example FDI or Universal); it only changes how teeth are labeled on screen and in documents, not any clinical data.

Changing the tooth numbering system relabels teeth immediately across charts and treatment plans. Existing chart data isn't affected, only how it's displayed.
