Book Through ChatGPT and Claude

Two ways patients reach your clinic through an AI assistant, by clicking a search result or by booking directly inside a chat.

When you enable AI directory listing on your booking page, patients can reach your clinic through their AI assistant in two different ways. This article explains both, what your patients see, and what arrives in your reception queue.

The Two Paths

The two paths are independent. A patient can use either one without any setup on their side beyond having an AI assistant they already use.

  • AI search, for patients who ask the assistant a question and click the link in the answer. Works in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and any AI tool that indexes Dentare. No installation, nothing for the patient to enable.
  • AI booking, for patients who install the Dentare connector inside their AI assistant. Once installed, they can ask the assistant to book a slot and the conversation handles the entire flow without leaving the chat.

Most bookings will arrive through the first path. The second path is the more advanced experience and is currently available in Claude with ChatGPT support landing soon.

A patient types a normal question into their AI assistant. For example:

I need a dental cleaning in Skopje, what are my options?

The assistant searches the web, finds your clinic in Dentare's directory, and replies with your name, services, opening hours, and a link to your booking page. The patient taps the link and lands on dentare.io/c/<your-clinic> exactly as if they had found you on Instagram.

From there, the booking flow is the standard one described in Book an Appointment Online. Your reception queue receives the booking like any other web booking.

This path requires nothing from the patient beyond the question they were already going to ask.

AI Booking

A patient installs the Dentare connector once in their AI assistant's settings. After that, the assistant can search clinics, list services, find slots, and create bookings directly inside a conversation.

What the patient does:

Install the Dentare Connector

In Claude, the patient opens Settings -> Connectors and adds Dentare from the directory. In ChatGPT (when available), the equivalent is Settings -> Apps. Installation is a one-time step.

Verify Their Email

The first time the patient uses the connector, Dentare sends a 6-digit code to their email. The patient types the code into the consent screen, which then asks "Allow Claude to book on your behalf?" The patient approves once and stays authorized for 30 days.

Search and Book in Plain Language

The patient can now say things like "find me a dentist in Skopje who speaks Macedonian," "what does [YOUR CLINIC] offer for whitening," or "book me the Tuesday 10:00 slot for a cleaning." The assistant calls Dentare in the background and confirms the booking.

The patient's verified email is what Dentare uses to confirm the booking. The AI assistant never sees the email directly.

What Arrives in Your Reception Queue

Bookings created through AI assistants land in your reception queue alongside web bookings, with the same fields filled in: patient name, email, phone, requested service, requested time. The patient's email is verified at consent time, so it is reliable for follow-up.

You confirm or decline these bookings in the queue exactly the way you would for a web booking. The patient gets the same confirmation email when you approve.

The patient's phone number arrives from what they typed in the chat, so it is treated as unverified, the same as the phone field on a web booking. Most patients include their phone, but a small share will book without one. If you need it, contact them via the verified email.

Languages

Both paths work in all 16 languages Dentare supports. Patients who chat in Macedonian get Macedonian responses; patients who chat in English get English. The booking confirmation arrives in the patient's chosen language.
