Clinic Settings Overview

The Settings hub is where clinic owners and admins configure every clinic-wide setting, from the clinic profile to billing and compliance.

The Settings hub is the single place to configure your clinic: profile, hours, booking, billing, team, and more. This article maps every category so you know where to go and why a category might not appear for your clinic.

Open it from Settings in the sidebar, or go directly to https://dentare.io/clinic/settings. Only admins and owners can open it - other roles don't see the Settings link.

The hub is a grid of category cards with a category rail on the left. Each card shows an access badge (who can open it) and an amber Pro badge on categories that include Pro-only features.

Clinic settings vs your account

Dentare splits configuration into two separate areas. Clinic settings change what every team member sees and how the clinic operates. Your account settings change only your own login and preferences.

AreaCoversLocation
SettingsClinic profile, hours, booking, billing, team, compliance - everything that affects the whole clinichttps://dentare.io/clinic/settings
Your accountYour profile photo, password, notifications, kiosk PIN, connected logins - things that affect only youhttps://dentare.io/account

If you're looking for a personal password change or your own kiosk unlock PIN, that's under Your account, not Settings.

Settings categories

A category that doesn't apply to your clinic is hidden entirely, not shown greyed-out. The table below lists every category in the order it appears on the hub.

Why is a category missing?

A category disappears from your Settings hub for one of these reasons:

  • Plan tier. Categories marked Pro carry Pro-only features. A category itself may still be visible on a lower tier - only the Pro features inside it stay locked.
  • Owner only. Billing & Plan and Bank Accounts touch money that leaves or enters the clinic's account, so only the owner sees them, even other admins don't.
  • Country. Fiscalization & VAT only appears in countries where Dentare supports fiscal reporting. Compliance & Privacy only appears for clinics in a GDPR-applicable country.
  • Feature not turned on. Devices only appears once you turn on a TV display or a kiosk screen. Overdue Reminders only appears once payments are enabled for your clinic.
  • Business type. A lab or imaging center sees fewer patient-facing categories than a dental clinic - Booking & Forms, Service Catalog, Treatment Rooms, and Patient Portal are clinic-specific, so labs and imaging centers won't see them. Lab businesses see one category clinics don't: Production Steps, the lab's per-work-type production stages.

If a category you expect isn't there, check which business you're currently switched into. Each business in your account (clinic, lab, or imaging center) has its own Settings hub with its own visible categories.

Your Businesses

If you own more than one business in Dentare, whether that's a second clinic location, a dental lab, or an imaging center, they all show up under Settings → Your Businesses.

Each row shows the business name, its type, its plan, and how many team members it has. The business you're currently working in shows a Current badge. Any other business shows a Switch button - select it to move your session over to that business without signing out.

Switching businesses changes what you see everywhere in Dentare: patients, appointments, team, and settings all belong to the business you're currently switched into. Patient data is never merged or shared between businesses.

To add a new business:

Open the new business form

Go to Settings → Your Businesses and select New business.

Pick the business type and name it

Choose clinic, lab, or imaging center, then enter the business name.

Create it

Select Create. The new business is added to your list with you as its owner, and its country, currency, and time zone default to match your existing business.
