Bank Accounts

Manage the clinic's own bank accounts for receiving patient transfers, set a default account, and configure invoicing defaults.

Bank Accounts holds the accounts your clinic receives patient transfers into, for example when a patient pays an invoice or a visit by bank transfer. This is different from Billing & Plan, which is what Dentare charges your clinic for its subscription. Open Bank Accounts at Settings → Bank Accounts (https://dentare.io/clinic/settings/bank_accounts). Only the clinic owner can see and edit this page.

Open the form

Select Add bank account. The form opens below the account list.

Enter the account details

Fill in a name for the account (how your team refers to it, for example "Main account"), the bank's name, and the currency it holds. For the receiving details, enter an IBAN, an account number, or both, depending on what your bank issues. Add the SWIFT/BIC code if your bank uses one. IBAN and SWIFT/BIC stay in English regardless of the app's language, since they are the terms printed on the bank's own paperwork.

Save it

Select Save. Dentare validates the fields and shows any errors directly under the field that needs fixing. A valid account appears in the list immediately.

Viewing the full number

The list shows only the last four digits of each account's IBAN or account number, both on this page and on the payment screen your staff use. Select the eye icon next to an account to reveal the full IBAN, account number, and SWIFT/BIC. Select it again to hide the details.

The full number is fetched only when you reveal it or open an account for editing. It is never included in the page data your browser loads by default.

Setting the default account

The default account is the one Dentare suggests first when your team records a bank transfer payment. Select Make default next to any active account to switch it. Only one account can be default at a time, and it must be active.

Activating and deactivating

An inactive account no longer appears on the payment screen, but it stays on this list with its history intact. Select Deactivate to retire an account without deleting it, or Activate to bring it back. If the account you're deactivating is the current default, choose a new default first.

Deleting an account

Select the trash icon to delete an account. This only appears for accounts that have never been used on a recorded payment.

Once a payment has been recorded against a bank account, Dentare keeps that account so the payment always shows where the money went. Deactivate it instead of deleting it.

Invoicing defaults

If invoicing is enabled for your clinic, an Invoicing card appears below the account list. These three fields become the default text on every invoice you send for a bank transfer:

  • Payment instructions - tells the patient how to pay and what to write as the payment reference. Leave it blank to use your country's default wording, shown as placeholder text.
  • Payment terms - how many days a patient has to pay, counted from the invoice's issue date.
  • Invoice signatory - the name printed as the person who authorized the invoice.

Changes to these defaults save on their own and apply to invoices issued after the change; they never rewrite invoices already sent.
